12 Benefits of CBD oils

Whether or not you live in a state where cannabis is legal, you have likely noticed that products with CBD oil are popping up all over the place. But what exactly is it?  Cannabidiol, also known as CBD is one of the many non-psychoactive compounds in cannabis with lots of healing properties. It is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound. It is beneficial to ingest or use topically. It’s great for achy joints, bug bites, eczema and even acne. That’s why it’s showing up in everything from food to beauty products.

Will CBD oil get me high?

CBD is derived from hemp and marijuana plants, but unlike THC, it’s completely non-psychoactive i.e. it won’t make you high. When choosing CBD oil, choose an oil containing hemp oil that is organic, non-GMO, free of pesticides, and other chemicals.

What are the benefits of CBD oil?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a “smart” molecule, an adaptogen, a regulator, and a modulator. CBD acts in a comprehensive and dynamic fashion, depending on the situation and location in the brain or body.

The primary action that CBD works on in our bodies is to help you maintain homeostasis. Homeostasis is the ability to maintain internal stability in our bodies to compensate for environmental changes. So, CBD helps us to maintain balance in the body despite the environment we live in. When the body is out of balance any number of the ailments listed can happen and cause you discomfort and pain.

1. ADHD
2. Anxiety Relief and Stress Support
3. Regulates Pain
4. Reduce the number of Seizures in Epilepsy
5. Aide in Digestion by supporting fat loss & cleansing of your colon
6. Diabetes – High Blood Sugar
7. Reduces Inflammation
8. Neuro-protective properties for head injuries including preventing concussions
9. Depression
10. Supports Heart Health
11. Sleep
12. Migraines

The effects vary based upon the condition of the person taking CBD. Some people use it to alleviate more serious conditions such as seizures, while others use it for feelings of general wellness, such as sleeping better or lower stress levels. Each person is different and will have a unique response to the supplement. It is important for people to be objective in observing the effects in order to find the right individual dose and whether CBD can be helpful.

When CBD is used in beauty applications, it is believed to protect skin from free radicals such as UV rays, smoke, and environmental pollutants… and it may be a powerful antioxidant.

Can I take too much?

It is recommended to begin with a small amount and see how you feel.  Some people take too much and have an unpleasant experience.

Please consult your physician with specific questions you may have. I hope you find this quick overview helpful.

If you’ve tried or are currently using CBD oils, share your comments how it has benefited you and/or a family member.
