I first met Nadine at a Women’s Wellness Conference four or five years ago in Costa Mesa, California. I just love listening to her speak. She is very knowledgeable and she is passionate about educating women about health and wellness. She is also the author of Holistic Dental Care: The Complete Guide to Healthy Teeth and Gums. She is the founder of a line of products called Living Libations which she creates in Toronto, Canada.
I picked up her newest book, Renegade Beauty, at the Longevity Now Conference earlier this month. Her book covers beauty from the inside out meaning beauty is about your whole body from your gut health to what you eat to what you are putting on your skin. For example, she goes into detail about what happens when you take a shower and what the chemicals from the water do to your skin.
These are some photos I took at the conference while Nadine spoke. This is a glimpse of some material that is in her book.
The Foreward of the book is by actress Carrie-Anne Moss, who also lives a holistic lifestyle. And she uses Nadine’s products!
I highly recommend reading Nadine’s book, Renegade Beauty!
As my husband and I were walking to the theater to see a movie in Carlsbad, we passed by the Pizza Press. After the movie, we decided to give The Pizza Press a try. The Pizza Press was brand new at the time. We love pizza and have gone to other “pick your own topping” places like Blaze and Pieology. I love The Pizza Press! At first we were not too impressed with their service because it took a long time to get through the line. What they do is have one employee make two pizzas at the same time. First, he or she starts by getting a ball of dough and rolling a press on the dough. Then they top your pizza with a sauce of your choosing, fresh toppings that your want, and then the pizza goes through a hot conveyor oven that brings out the natural flavors of their ingredients.
The Pizza Press uses high-quality and locally grown ingredients. They have trademark thin crusts topped with fresh, tasty toppings! Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are optional depending on your dietary needs.
I like that The Pizza Press crusts are not burnt like Pieology and Blaze. Maybe this just happens when gluten-free crust is ordered – their crusts are pretty flat that they taste like a chip.
Visit The Pizza Press website at http://www.thepizzapress.com/ to learn more about their awesome pizzas, craft beers, and to find a location near you!
Everyone loves burgers! Have you tried this tasty, healthy alternative? If not, you need to swing by the Pure Burger in Carlsbad, California.
Pure Burger’s ingredients are pure, organic, and fresh. Choose from grass fed beef, chicken, veggie/cheese burger, or vegan burger. Add your own toppings i.e. lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, avocado, etc. Top your burger off with a sauce. I love their balsamic mustard sauce.
Pure Burger’s meat is fresh, not frozen, and ground each morning. Their beef is grass-fed and free-range. Their chicken is natural.
Their French fries are gluten free, cut fresh, and cooked in non-GMO rice bran oil. Tip: order their fully loaded fries! My kids and I shared an order.
I ordered a vegan, gluten-free burger made with assorted vegetables and brown rice.
Have you tried Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza?
I heard about Blaze Pizza from my husband. He mentioned that it is similar to Chipotle in that you can build your own pizza with fresh toppings.
I love it! Their gluten-free pizza is awesome! You can add as little or as many toppings as you would like. They also have vegan cheese!
They offer a variety of sauces such as classic red sauce, spicy red sauce, white cream sauce, pesto drizzle, bbq drizzle, olive oil drizzle to top off your pizza.
If you prefer, you can order one of their signature pizzas or a salad. And the prices are reasonable.
